Words can be very powerful. We can use words to build people up or tear people down. James says, "do not talk down to one another." The issue is humility. The way of Jesus is humility, seeing others as equally created in the image of God, using our words in a way that honors Christ.

The term "fake news" has been in the news lately and sometimes it's difficult to tell the difference between what's real and what's false. James tells us that wisdom is like that. There's earthly wisdom (fake wisdom) and then there's the "wisdom from above," godly wisdom. Pastor Chip shares how to tell the difference in your own life.

One of the hardest things to accept is God's judgment. Because we are all guilty and subject to His judgment. But James reminds us of God's mercy. But he also reminds us that in some way God judges us the same way we judge others.

When things are difficult God wants us to respond by asking Him for wisdom and growing in our faith through the trial. But we don't always respond that way. Sometimes we respond by blaming others or even blaming God.
